Nearing Completion
Scheduled Grand Re-opening September 28, 2008

Academy of Sciences
The "Living Roof" has been planted and exhibits are being installed.
California's oldest museum, the 150 year old California Academy of Sciences, is closed for reconstruction. The building was damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and will not reopen again until the new museum is completed in 2008.

The Academy has moved to temporary quarters at
875 Howard Street in San Francisco's South of Market area. The "Transition Building" is scheduled to open to the public in April 2004.
