General Henry W. Halleck Monument

The monument dedicated to the memory of General Henry W. Halleck is located on John F. Kennedy Drive near the tennis courts. Sculpted by Carl H. Conrads, it was donated by Major General G. W. Callum in 1886. Halleck served as general-in-chief of the Union armies in the Civil War, and was known as "Old Brains" for his theoretical brilliance. He was also a framer of the California Constitution.
