The Temple of Music is located at the music concourse opposite the Japanese Tea Garden. It was completed in 1900 and was a gift of Claus Spreckels. The bandstand sustained major damage during the 1909 and 1989 earthquakes. Restoration was completed for the latter in 1994. Free Sunday concerts are given during summer beginning at 1 PM.
