Portals of the Past
Return to map

Along the bank of Lloyd Lake, visitors will find Portals of the Past. The stone and marble portico that sits on the far side of the lake, was taken from the A.N.Towne residence on Nob Hill after the 1906 earthquake. It was all that was left standing after the fire. Clinton E. Worden then gave it to the park with the idea that it would stand as a symbol of ruin and rebirth.
