California Live Oak Trees

In the northeast corner of Golden Gate Park, native stands of California Live Oak Trees can be found. Originally, these trees were among the few existing areas of greenery to be found within park boundaries. Over 70 percent of Golden Gate Park was reclaimed from drifting sand.
