For more information, call 415-661-1316.

Just inside and to the left of the Friends Gate entrance, visitors will find the Primitive Ferns Garden. Walk along the wood platform paths and learn all about fern life from the posted narratives. Within the 70 acre boundry of the arboretum, gardens from California, Chile, Australia, Cape Province, New Zealand and the New World Cloud Forests can be viewed.

This area marks the beginning of the Biblical Garden in Strybing Arboretum. It is locate adjacent to the Garden of Fragrance, and as its name implies, the Biblical Garden features plants of the Old Testament.

A little further along the Biblical Garden path, visitors will find the Garden of Fragrance for the blind. It is one of three gardens stipulated in the will of the late Helene Strybing. This garden consists of a series of plants labeled in Braille, selected for their subtle scents and sensuous foliage.

The Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a living museum that features over 7500 kinds of plants growing in an outdoor setting. Pictured here is Alstroemeria Aurantiaca, which can be found in the Chilean section of the arboretum.
