Return to map

The Rhododendron Island in Golden Gate Park is actually a sunken planting area dominated by rhododendrons. It is located in the middle of John F. Kennedy Drive, opposite Spreckles Lake.

Several varieties, including the "Cleopatra" variety pictured here, can be found at the island. Blooming begins in early spring.
