The Bay to Breakers foot race is only one way of utilizing the running paths of Golden Gate Park.The race begins in downtown San Francisco and runs through the park, finishing along The Great Highway at Ocean Beach. It is run each year in May.  Virtually the entire park is open to runners. Every Sunday JFK Drive, from Stanyan Street to Cross Over Drive, is closed to traffic so that runners, bikers and skaters can enjoy the wide avenue without fear of on-rushing traffic. |
